In a challenging third quarter for equity investors both public and private, US private equity and venture capital funds each lost ground for the first time in several years, though the latter only fractionally.  Both bested public market equity returns, according to benchmarks published by Cambridge Associates LLC. Squire Patton Boggs has represented private equity firm MCI in its record EUR76 million exit from Invia/Travelplanet, the leading e-travel player in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The cross-border team led by Warsaw Corporate partner Michal Karwacki advised the MCI.TechVentures Fund on the sale of 100 per cent shares in Invia/Travelplanet to Rockaway Capital.  In the transaction, valuing Invia at EUR76 million, MCI sold its shares in the company for EUR56 million. Real estate investor acquisition and management platform CrowdStreet has raised USD3.5 million in Series A funding. Rally Ventures led the round with participation from seed investors Green Visor Capital, Seven Peaks Ventures and Portland Seed Fund. Venture Capital fund Flint Capital has bought an EUR1 million minority share in Creamfinance from an Angel investor, which coupled with its original investment in the firm two years ago, makes it CreamFinance’s largest institutional investor.
