Bertram Capital’s proprietary buy and build strategy is gaining in popularity with investors with the firm having now closed the Bertram Growth Capital IV with USD940 million of total capital commitments, significantly above its initial hardcap of USD800 million and 80 per cent above its predecessor fund.

Backers include a broad base of investors including endowments, foundations, consultants, insurance companies, public pensions, corporate pensions, asset managers, fund-of-funds, and family offices from the US, Europe and Asia.

In the VC space, a new initiative from the London & Partners’ Silicon Valley Comes to the UK (SVC2UK) programme, has announced its inaugural cohort of female founders. Beyond HERizons is backing 15 female entrepreneurs for 12 months in a bid to address the fact that all-female founded businesses received just GBP22 million, less than 0.5 per cent, of the total GBP5.3 billion venture capital invested into London tech firms between January and April this year.
