Polaris makes two senior hires and five promotions

Daniel Repfennig has joined Polaris Private Equity as Director. Repfennig most recently held a position as Investment Director at private equity firm Solix and has been based in Copenhagen from 2018, overseeing several of the firm’s Swedish deals. 

Prior to that, Repfennig worked at Nordic investment firm Ratos after beginning his career as a consultant with Arthur D Little AB in Stockholm. He holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and simultaneously completed his economics education from Stockholm University.

“We are pleased to welcome a strong profile such as Daniel to our team, where he will leverage his strong background to contribute to our work with coming and current portfolio companies. Daniel’s cross-Nordic profile will be a good supplement to the continued development of Polaris,” says Jan Johan Kühl, Managing Partner at Polaris.

In addition, Martin Bang-Löwgren has been appointed Head of Sustainability at Polaris. Bang-Löwgren has been part of Polaris’ investment team since 2009, and has worked with a number of portfolio companies during that period. He will coordinate Polaris’ sustainability efforts and cooperate closely with Polaris’ investment teams during the investment process and subsequently supporting the portfolio companies. 

Polaris has also announced five promotions with Thorsten Spurr Madsen appointed Director, Joachim Satchwell and Nicolai Vennekilde, Associate Directors, and Philip Dithmer and Gustav Brobert, Investment Managers.

Spurr Madsen joined Polaris in 2015, and he holds an MBA from IMD Business School a MSc, Finance and Accounting, from Copenhagen Business School. Satchwell has been with Polaris since January 2013 and holds a MSc, Finance and Accounting, and a BSc, International Business from Copenhagen Business School. Vennekilde has been with Polaris since 2020 and holds a MSc, Applied Economics and Finance, and a BSc, Business Administration and Economics, Copenhagen Business School. Dithmer joined Polaris in 2018, and he holds a MSc, Engineering Management, and a BSc, Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Brobert has been with Polaris since February 2020 and has a MSc, Real Estate Investment, Cass Business School and a MSc, Corporate Finance, and BSc, Business Law, Lund University.
