Dentons adds to Banking and Finance group in Paris

Global law firm Dentons has strengthened its Banking and Finance practice in Paris with the recruitment of capital markets and structured finance partner Julien Bacus and associate Aurélie Bonnet.

They join Dentons from Ashurst, where Bacus was a partner in the Finance department since 2008. Prior to that, he worked for Allen & Overy in Paris and London for almost eight years.

Julien Bacus is a recognised lawyer in the field of finance, capital markets and structured finance. He focuses on derivative transactions covering different types of underlying assets. He also advises clients in financial difficulty on the restructuring of derivative transactions and on pre-litigation matters. In addition, he has extensive experience in the hedging of financing transactions (LBOs in particular), issuance of debt, structured products, as well as financial regulation.

“The recruitment of Julien and his team is an important step in our strategy to strengthen Dentons’ market position in France,” says Marc Fornacciari, France Managing Partner. “Julien is recognised by Chambers and Partners as one of the top capital markets lawyers in the country, and his deep knowledge of structured finance will complement the capabilities of our high quality Banking and Finance practice.”

Bacus says: “I am very happy to be joining the highly regarded Banking and Finance team in Paris and to become part of the great global platform that Dentons offers to clients.”
