Victory Park Capital appoints new partner

Victory Park Capital (VPC), a global alternative investment firm, has appointed Kevin Burke as a partner. Based in Chicago, Burke will focus on expanding the firm’s corporate credit business and will be primarily responsible for managing investment strategies in both existing and new asset classes.

“Kevin is a high-calibre talent with impressive and long-standing industry experience,” says Richard Levy, founder and CEO of Victory Park Capital. “His appointment enhances our firm’s established credit business and sharpens the expertise that we have built over the last 11 years.”

“Kevin’s unique perspective as both an investor and an asset manager will be additive as we continue to scale the firm’s investment offerings,” adds Brendan Carroll, co-founder and senior partner at the firm.

Burke joins VPC from the University of Notre Dame, where he spearheaded the launch of the Institute for Global Investing to create a world-class investing, research and education facility as a managing director. Prior to joining Notre Dame, Burke was president, founding partner and member of the Management Committee at Conatus Capital, a Connecticut-based alternative investment firm. During his nine-year tenure at Conatus Capital, and as a senior member of the investment team, Burke assisted with asset allocation and portfolio construction and guided the firm’s business strategy, capital raising, staff development, risk management and trading functions. Previously, Burke held various positions at Merrill Lynch, Kemper Financial Services and The Chicago Corporation.

“Victory Park Capital has a proven track record of providing high-quality alternative investment solutions,” said Burke. “I look forward to working closely with this talented team of individuals to drive continued growth and value creation for the firm’s clients.”

Burke holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in economics from the University of Notre Dame. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, having taught classes in private equity, venture capital and portfolio management.
