EY has appointed Paul Ahern as Partner to lead its mid-market Private Equity team.
Ahern rejoins EY – having previously led the firm’s Parthenon UK strategy business for a number of years – following a period supporting an early stage technology business where he successfully supported growth as well as a number of fundraising cycles.
At EY, Ahern will be focused on developing the firm’s mid-market private equity business, supporting clients across their life cycle, driving maximum value for their investments and assets.
Commenting on his appointment, Ahern says: “Mid-market remains the area where the greatest volume of deal activity happens and it is also the market segment where value creation is almost entirely driven by growth rather than cost savings.
“I have always had a passion for working with and supporting these fast growth businesses who generate significant amounts of economic prosperity. But I also see enormous opportunity for EY to apply some of its unique tools and capabilities to support that growth.
“EY has market leading credentials in the mid-market advising on high profile deals across the UK and I will look to build on this success.”
