Global law firm Goodwin has appointed Lauren King as a partner in the firm’s Private Investment Funds practice in New York.

King focuses on the organisation and operation of private investment funds. She represents a wide variety of funds with extensive cross-border components, including secondary, buyout, real estate, special-opportunity, hybrid, credit and venture capital funds. King also advises private asset managers on the full spectrum of corporate matters, including governance, upper-tier structuring, succession planning, marketing and limited-partner transfers. Additionally, she represents secondary investors in connection with general partner-led restructurings and other secondary transactions. King has significant private equity and joint venture transactional experience.

“Lauren is a highly regarded lawyer with remarkable experience advising institutional clients and emerging managers across all fund products, geographies and fundraise sizes,” says John Ferguson, Co-Chair of Goodwin’s Private Investment Funds practice. “She will be a major asset to our growing New York team as we further solidify Goodwin’s international position as a leading player in the private fund space.”

King received a JD from New York University School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College. She is admitted to practice in New York.
