RBC Capital Markets makes two senior hires

RBC Capital Markets has made two new senior hires – Florent Cassabois joining as RBC as Head of Leveraged Finance based in France and David Brand as a Managing Director in the Central Funding Group based in London.

In his newly-created role, Cassabois will be based in Paris and report to Ed Dickinson, European Head of Leveraged Finance from a product perspective and Eric Meyer, Head of France from a country perspective. Cassabois joins from HSBC, where he was a Managing Director and the Co-Head of Leveraged and Acquisition Finance France, with responsibility for a team covering both investment grade and non-investment grade acquisition financing for both corporate and sponsor clients.

Josh Critchley, RBC’s head of European investment banking, says “Florent brings over 20 years’ experience of this large and important market and his appointment underpins our continued commitment to building out both our Leveraged Finance business more generally and our French coverage capabilities specifically”.

Brand joins from Morgan Stanley, where he spent the last 15 years, most recently as the Global Head of Sales for their Bank Resource Management (BRM) division, the unit housing securities lending, repo financing, listed and OTC derivatives collateral businesses. Prior to that, he spent eight years at Deutsche Bank in various roles across trading and sales.
