Gibson Dunn adds two corporate partners in London

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has appointed Charlie Geffen and Mark Sperotto as partners in the firm’s London office.

Geffen, who served as Ashurst’s senior partner and, prior to that, head of its private equity practice, will join Gibson Dunn as chair of the London corporate practice.  He will focus on global corporate and sponsor relationships, including mergers and acquisitions of all forms and private equity transactions.

Sperotto is a corporate finance and private equity partner at Ashurst.  He will continue to focus on cross-border M&A, private equity and equity capital markets transactions.

“We are thrilled to welcome Charlie and Mark to the firm,” says Ken Doran, chairman and managing partner of Gibson Dunn.  “Both are recognised leaders in the UK legal market and the private equity space, and will enhance our ability to serve our clients on cross-border M&A, private equity and corporate transactions.  With the additions of Charlie and Mark, coupled with corporate partners Nigel Stacey and Jonathan Earle who joined us earlier in the year and our legacy team of strong transactional lawyers, we are well-positioned to represent our clients on the most complex transactions in the UK and across Europe.”

“Gibson Dunn represents a truly exciting and unique opportunity,” says Geffen. “The firm is a global market leader with a clear vision and the firepower to execute its strategy, and I look forward to helping the firm continue to strengthen its position.”
