Target Partners invests in SaaS platform for agricultural businesses

Berlin-based trecker.com has secured EUR2.1 million in a Series A financing round led by venture capital firm Target Partners.

trecker.com provides farmers and agricultural contractors with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for handling all business processes. Today, more than 50 agricultural firms use the platform and associated mobile app to plan, record, monitor and invoice the deployment of machinery and manpower. The processed data can then be used to fulfil documentation requirements, assess performance and optimise operations.

"For years, the agricultural industry has been undergoing a technological revolution. State-of-the-art industrial agricultural engineering has already led to leaps in productivity. Now it’s time to replace paper records and outdated software applications with modern enterprise resource planning," says trecker.com CEO and co-founder Miro Wilms. Employees on the move are sent their assignments via a mobile app, which also logs all key operating data such as hours and acreage worked.

"These days, the agricultural sector is increasingly the preserve of large commercial enterprises using the latest machinery. These firms are now also looking for modern software solutions with mobile applications to manage their businesses. Over 50 customers have already opted for trecker.com. Worldwide, the potential for trecker.com is vast," says Berthold von Freyberg, a partner at Target Partners.

"We are delighted to have won Target Partners as an investor, a partner with specific experience in the field of SaaS for businesses," Wilms says. trecker.com is the latest specialist SaaS provider to join the Target Partners portfolio, alongside hetras (hotel management), TIS (B2B payment transactions) and Falcon Social (social media management).
