Raphael Weiner joins venture capital investment team at Target Partners

Raphael Weiner has joined Munich-based venture capital firm Target Partners as an associate. Weiner will support the team in handling all tasks related to startup investments, from deal flow to the investment process right through to portfolio management.

In 2009, Weiner became one of the first employees at Scoreloop, a mobile social gaming platform funded by Target Partners. As product marketing manager, he helped drive the growth of the Munich-based startup until its successful exit in 2011, when the company was acquired by Blackberry. “I’m really excited about making the switch from being employed at a startup to working at a venture capital firm, and becoming a part of the experienced team at Target Partners. And I’m especially looking forward to working closely with the founder teams,” said Weiner.

Over the past two years, Weiner worked in business development and product development at several Silicon Valley startups. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and he studied software engineering at gSchool in Denver, Colorado.

“Raphael has operational experience in growing startups and in developing technologies. This will help him assess technologies and markets and support our portfolio companies as they grow,” says Kurt Müller, a partner at Target Partners.
