The Care Group acquires Walson

Elm Creek Partners’ portfolio company The Care Group has acquired Walson, a provider of in-home respiratory therapy and enteral feeding services.

The acquisition of Walson, which services patients in Texas and Louisiana, offers TCG a broader geographic reach, a more diversified patient base, and new product offerings.

Led by CEO Roy Spradlin, The Care Group continues to expand its footprint outside of Houston and is actively pursuing new acquisitions and de novo opportunities.

“Walson is a natural addition to The Care Group platform,” says Spradlin. “The company has a great reputation for delivering quality care and gives us the ability to extend our reach and diversify our payor base.”

The transaction was underwritten by Elm Creek’s capital provider, Texas Capital Bank.

“We are excited about the future of The Care Group and the opportunity to continue to serve them with our extraordinary people, culture and financial strength,” says Keith Cargill, president and CEO of Texas Capital Bank.

Elm Creek Partners acquired a majority equity ownership in The Care Group in 2014.
