Conquest and e-Totem sign EUR50m partnership agreement for EV charging points in France and Europe

Conquest, an alternative asset management firm invested in long-term sustainable value stemming from European infrastructure and energy transition real assets, and e-Totem, a subsidiary of the manufacturing group Atomelec, which develops and operates recharging solutions for electric vehicles, have signed a EUR50 million partnership to install and operate charging points for electric vehicles in France and Europe.

Following the European Commission’s announcement this summer of a ban on the sale of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines in Europe from 2035, France, and Europe more broadly, will need to significantly expand the number of charging stations available over the next decade to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles. According to European forecasts, there will be 80 million electric vehicles on the roads by 2030, requiring a total of 30 million fully operational charging points.

With this in mind, Conquest’s ambition with e-Totem Infrastructures – a platform dedicated to the financing of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (IRVE) projects – is to step up the development of the national and European network, particularly in major cities, on major roads and in partnership with shopping centres.

e-Totem Infrastructures is already currently involved in implementing two national projects:

Metropolis: a charging network for electric vehicles in the Greater Paris area (3,000 charging points by the end of 2022, including 240 rapid charge points).

SEMOB: a charging network for electric vehicles in the Saint Etienne area (200 charging points by the end of 2022, including 20 rapid charge points).

As a pioneer in the development of IRVE projects, e-Totem Infrastructures will develop major new initiatives in partnership with Conquest.

Frédéric Palanque, President and founder of Conquest, says: “This strategic partnership fits perfectly with European ambitions for the deployment of electric recharging solutions. There’s no longer any doubt that the future of cars is electric. It is truly a revolution that we must be part of, and this is why we are proud to announce our industrial partnership with e-Totem – a leading innovative player in the field of electric vehicle recharging services. Through this partnership, we will be able to develop new solutions in this area. We are committed to continuing our involvement with manufacturing companies that are facing major environmental challenges.”

Hervé Sonneville, President and founder of e-Totem, says: “This agreement represents a major step towards strengthening e-Totem’s global offering. We now have the necessary leverage to rapidly develop a reliable, innovative recharging infrastructure that is accessible to all electric vehicle users. Together with Conquest, we will contribute to developing the long-awaited recharging service that will support the electrification of the European vehicle market.”
