New research from Bain Company has revealed that private equity deal value hit a record USD1.1 trillion in 2021, according to a report by Private Equity Insights.
The total for the year was twice that seen in 2020 (USD577 billion) edand far exceed the previous record high of USD804bn seen back in 2006.
The number of USD1 billion-plus ‘mega’ deals was around twice as the previous year while tech companies accounted for roughly one-third of all activity.
