Mubadala Investment Company’s asset management subsidiary Mubadala Capital has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Bugaboo Group, a provider of strollers and children’s consumer products and one of Bain Capital’s portfolio companies.
As a result of the deal, Bain Capital will retain a minority stake. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With Mubadala Capital’s investment, Bugaboo plans to expand into growth markets and “strengthen its position as a consolidator in the fragmented baby products industry”, according to a statement.
Citigroup Global Markets advised Mubadala Capital, while Barclays Bank Ireland and Robert W. Baird advised Bugaboo Group.
