iCapital Network adds Mercury Capital Advisors and Stanwich Advisors

iCapital Network, an online marketplace providing qualified investors and their advisors with access to private equity fund managers, has added Mercury Capital Advisors and Stanwich Advisors to its roster of fund placement agents.

These additions provide iCapital’s rapidly expanding base of registered members with access to Mercury’s and Stanwich’s networks of general partners and their funds.

iCapital Network serves as a conduit for registered investment advisors, wealth managers, family offices and high net worth qualified purchasers to get access to top private equity managers and their funds. The marketplace is aimed at satisfying the pent-up and growing demand for private equity investments among this audience of wealthy investors.

At the same time, the iCapital Network platform enables general partners and their placement agents to meet this demand by aggregating non-institutional commitments as part of fundraising efforts, providing an efficient solution to access trillions of dollars of previously untapped investable assets.

“iCapital’s goal is to provide our network of investors with access to the best private fund managers in the market and adding to our roster of leading placement agents does just that,” says Lawrence Calcano, Managing Partner, iCapital Network. “The iCapital team is excited to welcome Mercury and Stanwich to our consortium of placement agents as we continue to pursue our vision of using technology to enhance and complement current fundraising practices by expanding the pool of assets beyond large institutional investors.”

iCapital has assembled and will continue to expand its consortium of leading private equity fund placement firms to ensure continued access to a large, diversified group of high quality managers. This consortium, which was initiated by Credit Suisse’s Private Fund Group (NYSE: CS), now consists of Eaton Partners, Blackstone (NYSE: BX) affiliate Park Hill Group, Evercore’s Private Funds Group (NYSE: EVR), Monument Group, Capstone Partners and now Mercury Capital Advisors and Stanwich Advisors. The group collectively evaluates more than 750 private funds each year and employs some of the most experienced professionals in capital raising for private equity funds.
Mercury Capital Advisors was founded in 2009 by the former leadership of the Merrill Lynch Private Funds Group, where they received industry-wide accolades. Since 2003, that team has successfully completed fundraisings for over 100 funds with more than $130 billion in aggregate commitments.

"iCapital allows us to offer our clients the most innovative suite of services in the market, including the electronic platform advantage,” says Michael G Ricciardi, Managing Partner and Head of Firm, Mercury Capital Advisors. “We are excited to expose Mercury's premier fund offering to the underserved community of RIAs, family offices and wealth advisors."

Founded in 2003, Stanwich Advisors focuses exclusively on providing capital raising and advisory services to private equity firms and investors globally. Since 1996, the Stanwich Advisors Principals have raised in excess of USD18 billion for more than 40 private equity funds across a wide range of investment strategies.

"We are pleased to join the iCapital consortium and provide our clients with industry leading technology so they can gain exposure to independent wealth advisors, family offices, and other qualified investors who have limited access to private equity today," says Charles Daugherty, Founder and Managing Partner, Stanwich Advisors.
