Maven Capital Partners has appointed Alex Marsh to its investment team in the North East, as Investment Manager to transact on behalf of Maven’s private equity funds and help manage the GBP20 million Finance Durham Fund, announced earlier this year by Business Durham.
Marsh joins from Northstar Ventures, a North East-based venture capital investor focussed on the digital and technology sector, where he invested in early stage businesses to support a range of innovative, high growth companies and prepared portfolio companies for exits. Previously at PwC for almost 10 years, Alex worked as a Corporate Finance Manager in the award winning M&A team where he worked on a wide range of deals with public, private and private equity owned businesses, ranging from GBP10 million to GBP230 million transactions.
Marsh was named Insider Media’s ‘Young Dealmaker of the Year’ in 2015 and will be responsible for transacting new investments in the North East on behalf of Maven’s client funds and supporting Michael Vassallo, Investment Director for the region, on sourcing new deals.
The appointment, following the string of recent deal announcements from Maven’s North East operation, will strengthen the highly experienced Northern investment team, which has been successfully investing in high growth SMEs across the region for almost 20 years. Enhancing Maven’s presence across the North East, Alex will work closely with SMEs and high growth businesses to help them achieve their growth plans.
