C5 Capital invests USD35m in IronNet Cybersecurity

C5 Capital, an investment firm focused on cyber security, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, has made a USD35 million investment in IronNet Cybersecurity.

IronNet, which was founded by US General (Ret) Keith Alexander (CEO) raised USD78 million in total with Silicon Valley venture capital firms ForgePoint Capital (formerly known as Trident Capital Cybersecurity), and Kleiner Perkins also participating in the round.
 
The new funds will be used to support IronNet’s strategic growth and to continue accelerating the development and adoption of its industry-leading cybersecurity solutions.
 
Andre Pienaar, Managing Partner and Founder of C5 will join the board of IronNet, with C5 assisting the Company’s expansion into Europe and the Middle East.
