Vaultier7 backs baby food brand Little Spoon

Vaultier7 has led a growth equity round in US-based Little Spoon, a provider of direct-to-consumer (DTC) organic baby food.

Utilising cold pressure technology and natural ingredients free of added sugars and preservatives, Little Spoon says it offers a ‘fresh, organic, homemade quality alternative to shelf-stable store-bought food’.

The company says its DTC platform is grounded in optimising nutrition in order to aid in a specific child’s crucial development stages. Using a proprietary system underpinned by expert paediatric nutritional science, Little Spoon creates a personalised nutrition plan, ‘The Blueprint’, for each child that is delivered directly to the home.

Vaultier7 says: “At the heart of the Little Spoon experience is the Care team, comprised of real-life Moms across the US who handle all enquiries. With its direct, personalised relationship with the consumer, supported by this unique customer care team of super-passionate parents, Little Spoon has fast created an authentic community. This genuine 2-way conversation with customers is something we look for in all the brands we invest in. This has enabled Little Spoon to fast become a trusted partner in family homes, challenging an industry that has seen little innovation for years, and we are tremendously proud to join the brand on its journey to make parent’s lives easier whilst optimising their child’s nutrition”

Little Spoon says: “The quality of the baby food options out there have been far too low, for far too long, and the industry has largely ignored the new needs of the modern day parent. It’s our mission to fix that, and we are excited to partner with V7, experts in building breakthrough brands for the modern age, to revolutionise and challenge a sleepy industry so that all parents have access to quality nutrition and wellness products for their children. This round of funding will allow us to further accelerate our growth plans and consolidate our leading position in the US market, making fresh, healthy and incredibly yummy food accessible to even more parents”.

Early backers of Little Spoon include Chobani co-founder Kyle O’Brien and Tinder co-founders Sean Rad and Justin Mateen.
