Sandaire, an international multi-family office, has launched an enhanced private equity business – Sandaire Private Equity – which will aim to meet the diversifying needs of existing and prospective clients.
This launch supports Sandaire’s long-term growth strategy by broadening its offering to clients, and closely follows the launch of Sandaire Corporate Finance earlier this month.
Sandaire Private Equity will provide clients with the opportunity to invest in unquoted businesses across the spectrum of growth to buyout, through funds, co-investments, direct and underwriting investments.
James Fleming, Chief Executive of Sandaire, says: “Private Equity is a key component of the wealth market and we are seeing an increasing demand from existing clients for investment into unquoted companies. With the launch of Sandaire Private Equity, we’re well placed to enhance our offering and match our clients’ enthusiasm for further exposure in private equity.”
Heading the business will be Michael Mowlem, who joins Sandaire as Managing Director of Sandaire Private Equity, leading an existing in-house team. Michael will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for Sandaire Private Equity and delivering a differentiated and value-adding offering to clients across the risk spectrum.
Michael joins Sandaire following a 30-year career in M&A in both investment banking and, since 1997, in private equity. He was previously at LGV Capital, the private equity business of Legal & General Group plc. At LGV Michael was involved in identifying, leading and managing buyout investments. He developed a strong investment track record, becoming Managing Director in 2005 and then Chief Executive from 2013 as the business was placed in run-off, a process he managed.
