Riverside merges Shaker International and Montage

Private equity firm The Riverside Company has merged Montage, a solution to engage, interview and hire candidates, with Shaker International, a provider of predictive talent intelligence and assessment software solutions.

The combined company will help its client base, including hundreds of prominent global brands and 47 of the Fortune 100, transform talent acquisition by embedding predictive intelligence into automated hiring workflows that enable better candidate experiences and smarter hiring decisions.

The company will be led by Kurt Heikkinen from Montage as CEO, Brian Stern from Shaker International as President and a leadership team comprised of executives from both companies. All employees and offices of the two companies are being retained, and the combined company will be co-headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and Delafield, Wisconsin.

The combined business will engage more than 15 million candidates and provide opportunities for over one million hires, covering 20 languages in 200 countries and territories this year.

“We’re delighted to partner with such a world-class executive team and employee base,” says Riverside Managing Partner Loren Schlachet. “The results speak for themselves, and we’re excited to combine two ‘talented’ software companies to truly revolutionize the future of recruiting.”

Shaker International received a growth investment in 2017 from Riverside. The firm facilitated and financed this add-on of Montage and is eager to continue supporting the combined business and provide access to additional resources to fuel growth, innovation, enhanced client support and market expansion.

“Both Montage and Shaker share a common vision, culture and customer- and candidate-centric approach,” says Riverside Partner Joe Manning. “Via this merger, we are joining world-class expertise in SaaS, artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to transform the talent acquisition process.”

Working with Schlachet and Manning on the deal were Associate Jacob Stoller, Analyst Aakeem Andrada, Principal Dan Haynes, Associate Max Weber, Operating Partner John Kish and Finance Director Doug Guess.
