Kreab leads Mergermarket’s PR league table in Spain for the third consecutive year

Kreab, a communication and public affairs consultancy firm founded in Sweden in 1970, has topped Mergermarket’s ranking of PR advisors in Spain for the third consecutive year.  More specifically, Mergermarket, a provider of M&A data and intelligence which is part of the Acuris Group. has credited a total number of 29 transactions advised by Kreab with a total deal value of more than EUR4 billion, which positions the international group at the top of the Spanish ranking by number of transactions and in the 17th position at the European level.

In addition to the transactions credited by Mergermarket (which must meet specific eligibility criteria), Kreab has advised another 25 transactions throughout 2019, reaching a total of 54 deals advised. A large number of the deals advised by Kreab have been concentrated mainly in the energy, food, telecommunications, industrial, healthcare and real estate sectors.

In this sense, the attractiveness of Spanish companies and their great potential to generate value have boosted the number of transactions led by private capital firms in the Iberian country, which is another of Kreab’s main areas of expertise. 2019 was another record year for the private capital sector in Spain, with 8.513 million euros invested in our country by this type of firms.

Carmen Basagoiti, Managing Partner for Kreab Spain, says: “We are grateful to our clients for the trust they have placed in us to advise them in their M&A transactions. A good communication strategy is key to the successful completion of these transactions. From venture capital funds, to large international buyout funds, to national mid-market firms have relied on our advice for their operations. In a context of low interest rates in which alternative asset funds have attracted large amounts of capital, we are confident that we will continue to be a reference in the market thanks to our team’s high degree of expertise in managing the communication of this type of transactions both nationally and internationally”.

For Eugenio Martínez Bravo, Executive Vice President of Kreab Worlwide, and President and CEO of Kreab Spain, Latin America and Morocco: “Our firm’s leading position in financial communication has been confirmed the same year in which we celebrate our 50th anniversary. Transparency, which is key to a company’s reputation, is an intangible asset that operates in all markets and our objective is to transfer these excellent practices to the rest of the 25 countries in which we are present.”
