Advent International has appointed Nicolas Chavanne to head up the firm’s retail, consumer and leisure sector team in Europe.
Chavanne joins from TowerBrook, where he most recently served as a managing director. He has over 14 years of investment experience across Europe, including consumer-facing deals, omni-channel distribution businesses and investments within the wider retail, consumer and leisure sector.
Prior to TowerBrook, Chavanne worked at Greenhill, an investment bank, having started his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He graduated with an MA in management, financial and legal engineering from Ecole Supérieure De Commerce De Paris, in 2000.
“Now is an interesting time for the retail and consumer sector in Europe for businesses actively engaging with customers, with opportunities to invest in themes addressing growing customer wallet shares, and with large corporations refocusing their historical brand portfolios, commented Chavanne.

Founded in 1984, Advent has invested more than USD11 billion in over 75 companies in the retail, consumer and leisure sector globally.
