Oakley Capital strengthens investment team with appointment of new Partner and series of promotions

Oakley Capital (Oakley) has appointed Valero Domingo as a Partner, based in London. It has also made six promotions within its investment team, including two promotions to Partner.

Domingo brings a wealth of experience to Oakley, while the recent promotions will also continue to support the growth of the firm, following considerable development in recent years. The Oakley team now comprises 61 staff across its offices in London and Munich, 32 of which are investment professionals.

Domingo has joined Oakley’s London office, where he will be responsible for the origination and execution of transactions and the development of portfolio companies. Valero joins from Charme Capital Partners where he worked as a Principal, based in London and Madrid. He has considerable experience in European private equity and the wider financial sector, gained from previous roles at Highbridge, 3i and Goldman Sachs.

Oakley has also promoted two colleagues from Investment Director to Partner: Sam Fenton-Whittet and Sascha Günther. Fenton-Whittet joined Oakley’s London office in 2015 after a number of years working for the UK government, including in senior finance roles for HM Treasury. His focus at Oakley will remain on deal origination, execution and portfolio management. To date, Fenton-Whittet has been involved in Oakley’s investments in Career Partner Group, Schülerhilfe and Inspired.

Günther is based in Oakley’s Munich office and focuses on transactions and managing Oakley’s investments in the German-speaking region. During his time at Oakley, Günther has worked on investments in Wishcard Technologies, 7NXT / Gymondo, WindStar Medical and most recently ECOMMERCE ONE. Prior to joining, he was Vice President at ProSiebenSat. in Germany, where he led on multiple investments in the Technology, Media and Consumer sectors.

Oakley is also pleased to announce a further four promotions from within Oakley’s investment team; Lovis von Andrian has been promoted to Investment Director, having previously been an Investment Manager, while Mike Mutsaers, Cristina Popescu and Jamie Wilman are all promoted from Investment Associate to Investment Manager. The promotions follow strong performance and contributions to developing Oakley’s investment activity in recent years.

Peter Dubens, Managing Partner of Oakley Capital, says: “The appointment of Valero Domingo as Partner, along with a number of promotions in the Oakley team, follows another strong year of growth for Oakley. The continued development of the depth, experience, and sector expertise of our team has been vital to Oakley’s ability to consistently source differentiated deal flow, and then take the growth of the high-quality companies we back to the next level. I’m pleased to welcome Valero to our team and would like to thank all of the individuals who have been promoted for their significant contributions to the firm.”
