Wedgewood Communications joins imc group with Waterland backing

Wedgewood Communications, a US-based full-service biopharma commercial communications and advertising agency, has joined imc group with the backing of pan-European investor Waterland Private Equity.

Wedgewood Communications represents a convergence of science, technology and creativity and employs 60 people in Holmdel, New Jersey. This strategic partnership builds upon a strong historical working relationship between the two companies and will encourage further successful agency collaborations across the imc group. Wedgewood joins imc group alongside existing imc group agencies: imc agency, Porterhouse Medical, Indigo Medical Compliance and Pulsar, giving the group a global headcount of 285 people.

Wedgewood Communications will significantly enhance the ability of the imc group to disrupt the global healthcare communications industry by offering clients a multidisciplinary approach across seven core divisions: Medical & Scientific Content, Publications, Digital & Creative, Insights & Consulting, Patient Engagement, Meetings & Events, and Medical Compliance & Material Review.

Established in 1989 by a core team with roots in the data-led and detail-intense field of medical publishing, Wedgewood Communications’ professionals work in purpose-built teams to deliver evidence-based solutions to clients across almost every therapeutic category, with the express aims of driving productivity, increasing market share and improving care outcomes. By capitalising on strategic agreements with software partners and a global network of alliances encompassing operators in North America, Europe and Asia, Wedgewood Communications can leverage the latest digital advances and data insights to drive superior outcomes for its clients from its headquarters in Holmdel, New Jersey, USA.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
