RDCP Infrastructure acquires Woodford Engineering

Construction engineering specialist firm RDCP Infrastructure has acquired Gloucestershire-based Woodford Engineering for an undisclosed sum.

RDCP Infrastructure is a part of the London-based investment firm RDCP Group, which controls USD250 million of investments in the UK. Led by Sameer Rizvi, Iryna Dubylovska and Gareth Dillon, RDCP Infrastructure is the group’s construction and engineering arm. With 200 full-time staff members and a balance sheet worth over GBP50 million, RDCP Infrastructure is now one of UK’s leading construction engineering specialist contractors, offering fully integrated delivery of complex construction projects featuring innovative engineering solutions across key building and infrastructure sectors.

This latest deal is the firm’s fifth acquisition in the infrastructure sector and forms part of RDCP’s buy-and-build strategy in the sector. RDCP Group has two further acquisitions lined up for completion by the end of the year in different sectors.

Woodford Engineering is a family owned firm with over 40 years’ experience of producing high quality precision engineered parts and fabrications for local, national, and international clients. It operates from a 23,000 sq ft facility in Lydney, Gloucestershire providing a first class machining, fabrication, laser, and water jet cutting service. Woodford Engineering has 20 staff who will all remain with the business.

Sameer Rizvi, CEO and Founder of RDCP Group, says: “Woodford Engineering is a market leading precision engineering and metal fabrication business. We have been looking to expand into precision engineering but struggled to find the right fit until we came across Woodford Engineering. What particularly attracted us to the business was its consistent trading history and its track record of revenue and profitability growth, even during the tough pandemic months of 2020/21. We see huge growth opportunities working with the team to bring on more new clients and diversify the firm’s revenue streams. We are excited to welcome all the staff to the RDCP Group and look forward to working with the senior management team.

“Graeme Johnson and Paul Johnson have built a fantastic business. It will be business as usual for Woodford Engineering and its loyal workforce. All we want to do is carry on from where the Johnson brothers have left off.”

Joint Managing Directors of Woodford Engineering, Graeme and Paul Johnson, say: “Although we are sad to be leaving the business we have built up over 40 years, we are pleased that in RDCP we have chosen a group that appreciates the quality and potential of our workforce and the capacity of our business. We know Woodford Engineering will continue to serve its customers well under its new ownership.”
