Inspirit Capital acquires geospatial data services specialist Landmark Solutions

Inspirit Capital is to acquire Landmark Solutions, the managed geospatial data services division of Landmark Information Group Ltd, which is a subsidiary of DMGT Plc.

Headquartered in Exeter, UK, Landmark Solutions provides bespoke geospatial, data-focused cloud hosting projects, along with consultancy and support services to a range of public and private sector clients. The business has expanded its capabilities and augmented its offering over time through the development of innovative Software-as-a-Service and Data-as-a-Service solutions built from its expertise in leveraging rich geospatial datasets.

Underpinned by a highly specialised workforce possessing extensive knowledge of geospatial data, IT and address matching solutions, the new standalone business will go through an exciting rebrand which will be announced to the market in due course.

London-based Inspirit focuses on acquiring UK-headquartered businesses which are no longer core to their parent company’s strategic objectives and demonstrate strong growth potential. Inspirit’s founders combine 25 years of experience in executing corporate carve-outs and over time, have been successful in driving long-term value for stakeholders across a variety of different industries.

Will Stamp, founding Partner at Inspirit Capital says: “We are delighted to be investing in Landmark Solutions, which once again demonstrates Inspirit’s capacity to undertake complex corporate carve-out transactions. We have been impressed by the strong revenue growth at Landmark Solutions in recent years and look forward to providing an entrepreneurial platform from which the business can accelerate this growth trend.”

Albert Farrant, founding Partner at Inspirit Capital, says: “Chris Brackley and his team have built an outstanding business that has consistently won large data contracts despite competition from global diversified technology conglomerates. We believe that Landmark Solutions is very well positioned to take advantage of the significant opportunities that exist in the market and are excited about partnering with the business as it embarks on this next stage in its journey.”

Landmark Information Group’s Executive Chairman, Stephen Stout, says: “Our Board has determined that this transaction aligns with our future strategic direction and is the best course of action to realise the long-term potential of Landmark Solutions. We wish Chris Brackley and the team well.”

Chris Brackley, Managing Director of Landmark Solutions, says: “The Inspirit team are experienced investors that will help us to build on our existing track record and unlock our growth potential as a standalone business. We are excited about the prospect of partnering with them and taking our business to the next level.”
