Earth Capital appoints Chief Executive

Earth Capital, a global sustainable investing private equity group, has appointed Phil Culver Evans as Chief Executive.

Culver Evans will move from his current role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and take over Earth Capital’s CEO responsibilities from Gordon Power, who remains Chief Investment Officer (CIO).

Culver Evans joined Earth Capital in 2017 with a track record of senior management expertise in financial and operational leadership roles, specialising in transformation and value realisation. During his time as CFO Earth Capital grew its AUM significantly, as well as launching the Nobel Sustainability Fund®. Phil has proved a valuable addition to the Investment Committee.

Over the course of his career, Culver Evans managed businesses during periods of change, growth, early-stage development, and exit.  He is well-equipped to lead Earth Capital at this exciting time for sustainable investing, when responsible private market investment can demonstrate its value in funding change.

Culver Evans held senior executive posts at several businesses before joining Earth Capital including Robert Walters, Huntsworth and College Hill, and has spent many years managing a portfolio of companies and investments, growing and selling a small care home group, and transforming a number of businesses. Phil is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Before embarking on his career in business, Phil was in the French army.

Gordon Power, Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Earth Capital, says: “We are pleased to have Phil move into the role of Chief Executive. He has a broad range of experience and the drive to enhance our sustainable investment focus amid a surge of investor interest in our sector.”

Culver Evans, Chief Executive, adds: “I am honoured to be appointed to this post, with the support of the team, at this exciting and dynamic time for Earth Capital. With COP-26 ahead and fundraising for our Nobel Sustainability Fund® nearing its close, the importance of our vision for the future of sustainable finance has never been greater.”
