Private equity firm Advent International is working with private bankers to prepare for a sale of its portfolio company Idemia, a French biometrics and identity verification specialist, which could see the firm change hands for over €4 billion, according to a report by Bloomberg.

Unnamed Bloomberg sources meanwhile, have revealed that Goldman Sachs is lining up about €2.5 billion of debt financing to support any future deal.

Idemia has reportedly attracted interest from several companies including France technology major Thales, as well as private investment firms such as Brookfield Asset Management Ltd and Apollo Global Management Inc.

According to Bloomberg’s sources, Goldman Sachs’ financing package will consist of leveraged loans and high-yield bonds, and be denominated in euros and dollars, although a deal has yet to be agreed and there is no guarantee that the sale will proceed.
