Impax appoints deputy chief investment officer, listed equities

Impax Asset Management (Impax), the specialist asset manager investing in the transition to a more sustainable economy, has appointed Charles (Charlie) French as deputy chief investment officer, Listed Equities.

Impax Asset Management (Impax), the specialist asset manager investing in the transition to a more sustainable economy, has appointed Charles (Charlie) French as deputy chief investment officer, Listed Equities.

French joins from Newton Investment Management, where he has built a career as an analyst and portfolio manager and held the positions of head of multi asset, head of investment/deputy CIO, and most recently, head of equity opportunities, leading a team of global equity portfolio managers responsible for $45 billion in AUM.
 
At Impax, French will work alongside fellow Deputy CIO, Listed Equities, Hubert Aarts to support Bruce Jenkyn-Jones, chief investment officer, Listed Equities. Together they are tasked with leading and growing the Listed Equities team, including research, idea generation, portfolio management, ESG integration, and trading. Charlie will also focus on the strategic direction of the team and will support Bruce with his senior manager responsibilities under the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) rules.
