Other potential suitors to acquire the stake, which could be valued at about $2 billion, include infrastructure investors Stonepeak Partners LP and Canada’s British Columbia Investment Management Corp, according to unnamed Bloomberg sources.
Other shareholders in BP, which operates 21 ports in England, Scotland and Wales and handles more than £150 billion of UK trade annually, include Omers Infrastructure Management, Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC Pte, and Wren House Infrastructure.
Negotiations are reportedly in the early stages and there is no certainty any offers will be made.
