Partners Brett Estwanik, Paul Kaboub and Chris Stoeckle have launched Inyarek Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm investing in energy transition across both direct investment vehicles and traditional commingled funds.
The firm has already completed its first investment in partnership with institutional investors.
Prior to launching Inyarek, Estwanik, Kaboub and Stoeckle worked together for nearly 15 years, most recently at Old Ironsides Energy and previously at Liberty Energy. They have served as Board Members or Officers at more than 25 portfolio companies and have helped to guide strategic direction, according to a press release.
Inyarek’s strategy targets equity investments between $50m and $150m within three energy transition categories: lower-carbon fuels, distributed power, and the transition value chain. The firm employs subsector selection, according to the press release, which, combined with Inyarek’s partnership structuring, is designed to promote alignment, mitigate risk, and maximise exit potential.
In a statement, Stoeckle said: “We are dedicated to charting a pragmatic path for investing in the energy transition, and our due diligence in selecting both opportunities and partners is a big part of that.
“We founded Inyarek to capitalise on the most investable areas of the energy transition that are driven by rapid energy ecosystem change. At the same time, we take a forward-looking approach to ensure we are delivering long-term value for our investors, partners, and the communities we serve.”
The firm’s first investment in May 2023 was an equity commitment to Redtail Renewables, a renewable natural gas (RNG) platform which develops and operates RNG facilities in collaboration with landfills and other feedstock partners, with the aim of enabling companies in the transportation and utility industries to decarbonise. Redtail is led by CEO and President Casey Holsapple.
