Impax appoints Head of Nordics

Impax Asset Management, a specialist asset manager investing in sustainable economic transition, has appointed Magnus Kristensen as Head of Nordics with responsibility for business development in the region.

Kristensen reports to Paul Voûte, Co-Head, Client Group at Impax. Viktoria von Kunow, who previously led Impax’s business development activities in the region, will now focus on clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Based in Denmark, Kristensen joins from Federated Hermes, where he was Head of Nordics, managing client relationships and driving new business among institutional investors across the region.

Prior to Federated Hermes, Kristensen held similar roles at Jyske Bank and Neuberger Berman and has over two decades of experience in business development and client service.

Kristensen’s appointment follows Impax’s July acquisition of Danish fixed income manager, Absalon Corporate Credit. Formerly part of the Formuepleje Group, Absalon serves European institutional investors and Danish high net worth individuals. Impax has operated in the region since 1999 when it was asked by a Danish bank to design and manage an environmental fund investing in listed equities.

Kristensen and the four portfolio managers from Absalon will be based in Impax’s new Danish office in Køge, near Copenhagen.
