Saudi Arabia’s Jadwa Investment has raised SAR1bn ($266m), from entities linked to regional sovereign wealth funds and family offices, for a new fund to boost dealmaking, Bloomberg reports.
In a statement cited by Bloomberg, the Riyadh-based firm says it aims to grow its first blind pool fund up to SAR2bn by the first half of 2025, with investments for the vehicle already having been made and four more deals underway.
The fund will target investments in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) economic bloc, which includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.
With appetites for investment vehicles growing in the Middle East, private equity fundraising in the region has picked up over the past year, with industry giants such as BlackRock, Brookfield Asset Management, and General Atlantic making moves.
