SK Capital acquires Canada’s Spectra Confectionary

Private investment firm SK Capital Partners has acquired Spectra Confectionery, Canada’s largest producer of premium decorative toppings and confectionery products as part of its strategy to expand its food ingredients and specialty materials sectors portfolio.

Spectra, based in Toronto, is a supplier of sprinkles, coloured sugars, nonpareils, candy-coated chocolates, and other decorative confectionery products to major food distributors, bakeries, and snack companies across North America.

The company’s existing leadership team, including Managing Director John Georgas and President of Operations Nikolaos Georgas, will remain at the helm to ensure a smooth transition.

The transaction was supported by Coldwater Corporate Finance, which advised Spectra, and Cascadia Capital, which advised SK Capital. Debt financing was provided by MidStar Capital and Stellus Capital.
