US-based law firm Honigman is growing its Chicago office with the addition of Richard “Richie” Catalano as a Partner in the Transactions & Counselling Practice Group and Corporate Department.
According to a press release, Catalano, who joins Honigman from Ballard Spahr, brings a wealth of experience in advising emerging companies and navigating venture capital matters, with his client roster including global institutional investors, tax-exempt organisations, startups, hedge funds, family offices, and private equity and venture capital firms.
Catalano’s practice encompasses a broad range of transactions, including equity financing rounds, mergers and acquisitions, and complex commercial agreements. His expertise extends to licensing deals, NFT collaborations, technology sourcing, blockchain networks, manufacturing and supply arrangements, and marketing agreements.
“As we see more momentum and activity in the deal market heading into 2025, Richie’s unique skillset makes him a perfect fit for both the practice group and the firm. We’re excited to have him join our team,” said Kim Dudek, Chair of Honigman’s Corporate Department.
In addition to his venture capital focus, Catalano advises on corporate governance matters and has extensive experience drafting and negotiating third-party vendor agreements.
Catalano holds a JD from Hofstra University and a BA from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
