Corsair Capital, a specialist investment firm focused on payments, software, and business services within financial services, has acquired a majority stake in IDnow, a leading provider of identity verification solutions in Europe.
Founded in 2014, IDnow develops proprietary AI-driven identity verification technologies, catering to global enterprises and international brands across financial services, telecommunications, travel & mobility, gaming, and other industries. The company has established itself as a key player in digital verification and cybersecurity.
Corsair first invested in IDnow in October 2019, acquiring a minority stake to support the company’s growth. Since, IDnow has expanded its technical leadership, enhanced its portfolio of differentiated identification solutions, and executed two strategic acquisitions that have solidified its market presence across Europe, particularly in France.
With this transaction, Corsair aims to accelerate IDnow’s expansion and reinforce its position as a European market leader. The firm plans to drive further growth through geographic expansion and strategic acquisitions, leveraging IDnow’s existing capabilities to scale operations and reach new markets.
This investment will strengthen our capabilities and allow IDnow to capitalise on the vast market opportunity ahead, said Felix Haas, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of IDnow.
