Denham Capital, a global energy transition private investment firm, has appointed Paul David as Operating Partner for its Sustainable Infrastructure Credit Platform, a direct origination platform for both investment grade and high-yield private infrastructure credit.
David brings 35 years’ experience in infrastructure credit and investment management across a variety of geographies and investment segments, including institutional investment, insurance guarantees, and banking.
He has held senior positions at both Allianz Global Investors and MBIA.
In his most recent role at Allianz Global Investors, he was one of the founding members of the Infrastructure Debt team that successfully established the platform in Europe. Following this, he established the Americas Infrastructure Debt Team, building an investment team, fundraising from third-party institutional investors, and identifying strategic opportunities across geographies and sectors, resulting in growing the business to over $8bn of AUM from nothing.
Denham’s Sustainable Infrastructure Credit business holds investments in sustainable infrastructure assets across the US, Latin America, and Europe, and is expecting to reach $2bn of gross deployment by the end of 2025, across over 40 transactions.
Since the platform’s inception in 2021, the team has executed investments across wind, solar, clean data centres, batteries, hydro, biogas, transmission and utility assets, across multiple geographies and currencies.
