Carlyle exits full PNB Housing Finance stake

Global investment firm The Carlyle Group has fully exited its position in PNB Housing Finance, offloading its entire 10.44% stake via a block trade, according to a report by Reuters citing Moneycontrol.

Carlyle, which held the stake through its affiliate Quality Investment Holdings, was the second-largest shareholder in the Indian non-banking financial company, according to the most recent exchange filings.

The transaction was priced at a floor of INR960 per share, with shares ultimately sold at INR1,000.20 apiece – representing a modest 1% discount to Wednesday’s close.

Approximately 17.3 million shares, accounting for nearly 60% of the reported block size, changed hands during early trading on Thursday, though the buyers were not disclosed.

Despite the block sale, shares of PNB Housing Finance rallied 6% on Friday.
