Willkie Farr & Gallagher has appointed Benoit Champon as a Partner in the Asset Management Department, in the firm’s London office, focusing on fund formation with a particular emphasis on secondaries funds and secondaries transactions.
Benoit advises on the formation and raising of alternative investment funds, including secondaries, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, and debt funds, representing both sponsors and investors. He has significant experience in secondaries transactions, on both the buyer and the seller sides.
Benoit has diverse experience both at law firms and as in-house counsel. He has worked for international law firms based across Europe and Asia, and has acted as in-house legal counsel for asset managers in Paris and London.
Benoit joins a team of more than 25 partners in Willkie’s Private Funds practice group who focus specifically on private fund formation and liquidity solutions transactions across the Firm’s offices in New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, London, Paris, and Frankfurt.
