Verdane, the European lower mid-market private equity firm, has successfully raised €2bn for its latest growth fund, Verdane Freya XII, reaching its initial target less than six months after first close, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The fund marks Verdane’s largest to date and brings total capital raised by the firm to €9bn.
Approximately 80% of commitments came from existing investors, with new allocations from public pension funds, university endowments, and global non-profits. Freya XII will target companies driving the digitalisation of the European economy through both direct and portfolio investments.
Bjarne Kveim Lie, Verdane’s founder and managing partner, highlight investor appetite and a high re-up rate across its last six fundraises.
