Northleaf Capital Partners strengthens Japan team with Senior Hire

Northleaf Capital Partners, a $29bn AUM global private markets firm, has appointed Hideaki Kiyomori as Managing Director, Business Development, in its Tokyo office, further deepening the firm’s presence in Japan.

Kiyomori brings over 20 years of experience in private markets fundraising across private equity, private credit, and infrastructure. He will be responsible for supporting the Northleaf’s existing Japanese business development, and investor relations activities. Prior to joining Northleaf, he was Director, Private Alternatives at Alliance Bernstein. He began his career in an investment role at Nippon Life insurance, later overseeing private asset managers in the alternative fund-selection departments at Nippon Life and MassMutual.

The appointment underscores Northleaf’s commitment to the Japanese institutional market, building on the firm’s Tokyo office launch in 2022, and its strategy to serve Japan’s largest pension plans, insurers, and financial institutions.

Jeff Pentland, Head of Asia-Pacific and Co-founder of Northleaf, said: “[Kiyomori’s] entrepreneurial mindset, local market familiarity, and broad product knowledge will be invaluable as we strengthen our relationships across Japan”.
