Bain selects banks for IPO of infrastructure firm Eleda

Bain Capital has reportedly appointed banks to manage the initial public offering of Eleda, its infrastructure investment platform, as the firm moves to tap public markets for one of its portfolio companies, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The IPO marks a key step in Bain’s strategy to monetise its investments in infrastructure assets across Europe.

Eleda, which focuses on critical infrastructure projects, is expected to attract strong interest from institutional investors given the sector’s long-term, stable cash flows and growing demand for sustainable infrastructure. Sources familiar with the matter said Bain has engaged leading global investment banks to oversee the listing, although final pricing and timing have yet to be announced.

The move comes amid a busy year for private equity-backed infrastructure IPOs, as firms look to exit mature platforms while capital markets remain receptive to high-quality assets. Bain’s decision follows similar listings by other PE-backed infrastructure companies in Europe, where investors are increasingly drawn to regulated or essential services assets that offer defensive growth characteristics.

Market analysts note that the Eleda IPO could serve as a benchmark for valuations in the European infrastructure sector, which has seen strong PE activity and growing institutional demand over the past two years. Bain’s track record in infrastructure, combined with Eleda’s portfolio of assets, is expected to generate significant investor interest in the offering.

No further details on the IPO size or share allocation have been disclosed, and Bain has not commented publicly on the planned listing.
