CD&R agrees $10.3bn Sealed Air deal

Private Equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) has agreed to acquire Sealed Air, the US packaging group best known for inventing bubble wrap, for $10.3bn including debt, according to a report by Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter.

The company, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, produces products which include Cryovac shrink bags and Instapak foam packaging.

Under the agreement, Sealed Air shareholders will receive $42.15 in cash per share, a nearly 13% premium to its closing price on 11 November.

The deal is expected to close in mid-2026.
