CVC DIF, the infrastructure arm of private markets manager CVC, has appointed Chris Koski as chair of North America as it looks to expand its investment activity and deepen relationships across the US and Canada.
Koski will be based in Toronto and work alongside CVC DIF’s North American co-heads, Kanan Joshi in New York and Vincent Liu in Toronto. His newly created role will focus on strengthening relationships with corporate and institutional investors, developing strategic partnerships and identifying additional infrastructure investment opportunities.
Koski brings more than 25 years of infrastructure investment and leadership experience to CVC DIF. He previously served as global head of investment strategy at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners and was global head of infrastructure at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. Earlier in his career, he was part of the infrastructure team at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board from its establishment.
CVC DIF has operated in North America since 2012 and has built a mid-market infrastructure platform with more than 35 professionals across Toronto and New York. The business currently manages more than 20 active portfolio investments in the region.
Gijs Voskuyl, managing partner and head of CVC DIF, said Koski’s experience across infrastructure investing, investment strategy and capital raising would support the firm’s plans to expand its North American presence and develop new investment opportunities.
Koski said structural changes were creating additional demand for private infrastructure capital in North America and that CVC DIF was positioned to pursue opportunities arising from those trends.
