Gen II appoints director of PE funds in Guernsey

Gen II Fund Services has appointed Niel Krastin as Director of Private Equity Funds in Guernsey, strengthening its local fund administration capabilities following the company’s expansion in the jurisdiction.

Krastin brings 20 years of financial services and fund administration experience, covering fund accounting, financial reporting, operations and client service. He most recently served as Client Relationship Director, Funds, and has held several senior fund administration and client service roles in Guernsey, where he and his family have lived for several years.

Earlier in his career, Krastin spent more than 12 years in South Africa’s asset management sector, including over eight years leading a fund accounting division.

Matt Beresford, Gen II’s country head for the UK and Channel Islands, said Krastin’s technical expertise, client service experience and knowledge of the Guernsey market would support the company’s growing local presence.

The appointment follows Gen II receiving licences from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission earlier this year to provide fund administration services for private market structures domiciled in the jurisdiction. The move was driven by increasing demand from asset managers operating in Guernsey and builds on the firm’s existing Channel Islands operations.

Michael Johnson, chief commercial officer at Gen II, said the firm aims to combine experienced local teams with its technology, international reach and operational scale as private funds and investor requirements become more complex across jurisdictions.
