Niam recruits chief investment officer from Skanska

Niam, a Swedish-based private equity firm specialising in property, has recruited Fredrik Jonsson from Skanska Commercial Development Europe, where he was a vice-president, as chief investment officer, responsible for acquisitions of properties and development projects for the firm’s funds.

Says Niam managing director Johan Bergman: ‘We are very happy to have Fredrik Jonsson on the team. He has a sound knowledge of real estate acquisitions both in Sweden and internationally. He will strengthen our position as one of northern Europe’s leading real estate players.’

Niam_manages funds that invest in all types of properties, raised and managed on a discretionary basis. Since the firm was founded in 1998, properties with a total value of EUR3.3bn have been acquired by Niam’s funds or in association with international real estate funds.

Niam currently has owner responsibility for properties valued at EUR1.5bn. Niam Fund III has an investment capacity of approximately EUR1.8bn.
