Falcon, an entity controlled by funds managed or advised by Mid Europa Partners, which holds a 39.2 per cent stake in T-Mobile Czech Republic (TMCZ), has completed the syndication of an additional CZK875m (approximately EUR35m) of its senior facility to Volksbank.
This increases total commitments under the facility to CZK10bn (approximately EUR400m). Net proceeds will be distributed to Falcon’s shareholders.
In January 2012, Falcon raised CZK9.125bn (approximately EUR365m) through a senior facility underwritten by a group of six local and international banks (Citi, CSOB, Erste Group Bank/Ceska sporitelna, ING Bank, Raiffeisen Bank International, and Société Générale) and coordinated by Erste Group Bank and CSOB.
The financing allowed for an increase in the total commitments to up to CZK10bn.
Falcon acquired the 39.23 per cent stake in TMCZ in 2006 together with 100 per cent of Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa), a provider of nationwide broadcasting and telecommunications tower infrastructure in the Czech Republic. In January 2011, Falcon sold CRa for a total consideration of approximately EUR574m.
