Irving Place Capital appoints Partner and Head of Fundraising and LP Relations

Michael Doppelt has rejoined middle-market private equity firm Irving Place Capital (IPC) as a Partner and Head of Fundraising and LP Relations.

Doppelt’s new role at IPC will focus on maintaining strong connections with current Limited Partners while expanding the firm’s relationships to include new institutional investors.

Doppelt previously worked for IPC from 2005 to 2010 as a Senior Managing Director, responsible for LP Relations and Business Development. Prior to recently rejoining IPC, he spent eight years as a Managing Director and Partner at Lightyear Capital, leading fundraising and Investor Relations, during which time the firm completed two target-exceeding fundraisers. Doppelt was previously an investment banker at Bear Stearns and Schroders.

Doppelt says: “I’m pleased to rejoin this world-class team of focused PE professionals. The firm has established a differentiated investment approach defined by outstanding operational expertise that effectively maximises the potential value of portfolio companies.”

“We are happy to welcome Michael back into our group,” says IPC Co-Managing Partner John Howard said. “He will be a huge help in getting the IPC message out to potential investors and positioning the firm for continued future success.”

Co-Managing Partner Phil Carpenter, adds: “Michael is someone we have known for many years. His unique combination of familiarity with our firm’s investment approach and his successful fundraising experience make him the ideal choice to lead our fundraising efforts.”
