Gresham House strengthens Institutional Business team

Gresham House, a specialist alternative asset manager, has appointed Catriona Buckley as Institutional Business Development Director, effective 1 July 2019.

Buckley has over 15 years’ experience building relationships and developing new business opportunities with global institutional investors.

She joins Gresham House from Fidelity International, where she was responsible for manager research and field consultant engagement with global and domestic investment consultants in the UK, and for direct client relationships in Ireland. More latterly, Buckley held the position of Investment Director in the Fixed Income team at Fidelity working with global distribution channels to define and execute commercial strategy.

Before joining Fidelity International, Buckley was Client Director at Pioneer Investments (now Amundi), where she managed a portfolio of institutional client, investment consultant and global strategic partner relationships.

Earlier in her career, Buckley worked within the Bond Management Unit at Allied Irish Banks plc, analysing credit securities purchased by the bank’s proprietary bond trading desk.

Buckley will be based out of Gresham House’s London head office and will report to Heather Fleming, Head of Institutional Business, who joined Gresham House in June last year.  She will work alongside Heather to deliver on the Group’s institutional sales strategy and be responsible for deepening our relationships with the investment consultant community.

Gresham House has been strengthening the Institutional Business team, with Thomas Ducker joining as an Institutional Sales Manager from M&G Investments in November 2018.

Heather Fleming, Head of Institutional Business at Gresham House, says: “We are always looking at ways of delivering better outcomes for our clients and achieving their investment objectives. Catriona has an impressive track record in institutional sales and we are pleased to have attracted someone of her calibre to the business. We’ve been impressed with the recent interest among institutional clients for our strategies and, having previously worked with Catriona, I am confident she will make an invaluable contribution to building on this momentum. Catriona joins at an exciting time for the business, with AUM now at GBP2.3 billion following a combination of organic growth and several acquisitions.”

Buckley adds: “I am excited to be joining Gresham House to help build on the company’s impressive momentum. The Gresham House platform offers strategies that are an exciting prospect for institutional investors and ideally positioned to benefit from capital allocations from local authority and corporate pension schemes. I am impressed with the firm’s high-quality new leadership team and recent achievements, and look forward to contributing towards the continued growth of the business through developing new client opportunities as well as managing existing ones.”
